First day of practice/tryouts

The first day of practice/tryouts is on August 11th. Please make sure you have an updated physical and impact test. There are only 2 more impact testing dates before tryouts. August 6th and August 7th at 10:00am in the computer lab. This is before school begins so please make sure that your athlete knows and will be available. Please make sure to read and follow the next section of the newsletter. Tryouts are as follows:

August 11-13: 6pm-8:30pm, August 14&15: 3pm-5:30pm, August 16: 8am-11am

Forms for tryouts

We are very excited to announce that the Francis Howell Central Athletic Department has partnered with FinalForms, an online forms and data management service. FinalForms allows you to complete and sign athletic participation forms for your students. The most exciting news is that FinalForms saves data from season-to-season and year-to-year, meaning that you will never need to enter the same information twice! FinalForms also pre-populates information wherever possible, for each of your students, saving you time.

You may review your data at any time to verify it is current. You will be required to sign your forms once per year and after any update.

Click on the Parent Playbook (link below) to get started in FinalForms. If you require any support during the process, scroll to the page bottom and click “Get Help”.

We are asking the parents/guardians of all students planning to play sports to create accounts in FinalForms and register your student(s).

Fundraising

This year we are doing something different with fundraising. Instead of doing an email/text campaign, we are asking all of our families to either find a banner sponsor for our field or to donate for the friends and family sponsorship banner. If you find a company to buy a banner sponsorship, you will not be asked to donate to the friends and family. Please reach out to Chris or Michelle with any questions. We hope by doing it this way, we can keep all of the proceeds instead of giving a certain percentage to the company running the fundraiser.

Visors

If your daughter needs a visor, please use the following link to join the store and order from Wilson. Orders need to be place by August 8th. They will ship 4 weeks or so from when you order them. If you want to wear a visor in the game, it is highly preferred that it is this one.

The ­­­­Howell Central Softball 2025-Visors and Apparel shop is now live! Team Store Orders

If you ordered softball pants or anything else off of our BSN store, I have the packages at school. If you were not able to order pants off the original store, you will just need to find navy blue nike pants. You can probably order them directly from Nike. BSN was out of stock.

Band App

I am going to try a new way of communicating important information to both parents and players through the Band app. Please join if you have a player in the program to keep updated on any changes that I need to communicate quickly. This is only for parents and players that are currently in the program or will be in the program this coming fall.

Varsity Travels to KC

Varsity is now in the Liberty North Tournament on September 26th and 27th. We will leave on Thursday, September 25th. We will be staying at the Hampton Inn in Liberty, MO. The address is 8551 Church Rd. Kansas City, MO 64157.

BBQ

Our 4th annual BBQ will be on Saturday, September 13th. We will host both Zumwalt East and Hazelwood West in a 3-team round robin. Varsity will be on Field 1 and JV will be on Field 2. This will be a great atmosphere with 6 teams on campus at the same time. We are always looking for donations (meat, sides, drinks, raffle items) and people to help (grill, concession stand, collecting tickets). If you are interested or have any suggestions, please let me, Michelle Meyer, or Chris Dunlap know.

Club Team

I already follow many players through game changer. Please let me know what your teams game changer is so I can follow along this summer. My game changer email is [email protected]. You can invite me or add me as a family member so I can follow along more closely.
