Softball Camp

Summer Softball Training

We had a great first week of summer training with great attendance. We need to keep that up all summer to continue to grow as a team. Please encourage your daughters to attend as many sessions as possible.

Summer softball training will run immediately following the summer weight training program on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 11:00am-12:30pm. Please make this a priority as it is a great way to show your skills before tryouts in August. Weight training is open for athletes from all sports and we encourage all of our players to attend. You can use the same link from softball camp to sign up for strength training. These trainings are for players in incoming grades 9-12. Here are the dates for training.

June: 23, 25, 26

July: 7-10 (camp), 14, 16, 17, 21, 22, 24, 28, 29, 31

First day of practice/tryouts

The first day of practice/tryouts is on August 11th. Please make sure you have an updated physical and impact test. Impact test dates will be sent as summer approaches. This is before school begins so please make sure that your athlete knows and will be available. Times are TBD but will most likely start at 3pm for that first week.

Forms for tryouts

We are very excited to announce that the Francis Howell Central Athletic Department has partnered with FinalForms, an online forms and data management service. FinalForms allows you to complete and sign athletic participation forms for your students. The most exciting news is that FinalForms saves data from season-to-season and year-to-year, meaning that you will never need to enter the same information twice! FinalForms also pre-populates information wherever possible, for each of your students, saving you time.

You may review your data at any time to verify it is current. You will be required to sign your forms once per year and after any update.

Click on the Parent Playbook (link below) to get started in FinalForms. If you require any support during the process, scroll to the page bottom and click “Get Help”.

We are asking the parents/guardians of all students planning to play sports to create accounts in FinalForms and register your student(s).

Team Store Orders

If you ordered softball pants or anything else off of our BSN store, I have the packages at school. I will have these at workouts starting on Tuesday. Please have your daughter tell me they need their order and I will get it to them. If you need to order pants still, I will have another store open soon.

Band App

I am going to try a new way of communicating important information to both parents and players through the Band app. Please join if you have a player in the program to keep updated on any changes that I need to communicate quickly. This is only for parents and players that are currently in the program or will be in the program this coming fall.

Varsity Travels to KC

Varsity is now in the Liberty North Tournament on September 26th and 27th. We will leave on Thursday, September 25th. Lodging information will be available soon.

BBQ

Our 4th annual BBQ will be on Saturday, September 13th. We will host both Zumwalt East and Hazelwood West in a 3-team round robin. Varsity will be on Field 1 and JV will be on Field 2. This will be a great atmosphere with 6 teams on campus at the same time. We are always looking for donations (meat, sides, drinks, raffle items) and people to help (grill, concession stand, collecting tickets). If you are interested or have any suggestions, please let me, Michelle Meyer, or Chris Dunlap know.

Club Team

I already follow many players through game changer. Please let me know what your teams game changer is so I can follow along this summer. My game changer email is [email protected]. You can invite me or add me as a family member so I can follow along more closely.
